A GIF in three steps

1.

Drop your MP4

Up to 500 MB.

2.

Choose the moment

Set where it starts and how many seconds to keep (1 to 60).

3.

Make the GIF

Set the frame rate and width, then download it.

Keeping a GIF small

A GIF stores every frame as its own picture with up to 256 colours, so it gets big fast. Three settings decide the size: how many seconds, how many frames per second, and how wide.

For reactions and memes, 3 to 5 seconds at 10 to 12 frames per second and 480 pixels wide is a good balance. Go to 15 or 20 frames per second only for fast motion, and drop to 320 wide for chat apps with small limits.

The colours are picked from your own clip, not a generic palette, so skin tones and gradients look better than a quick conversion. GIFs have no sound.

Frequently
Asked Questions

How long can the GIF be?

Up to 60 seconds, but shorter is better: a 5 second GIF is far smaller and loads faster.

Why is my GIF so big?

Lower the width or the frame rate, or keep fewer seconds. Each frame is a full picture.

Does the GIF have sound?

No. GIFs can't hold sound. Keep it as an MP4 if you need audio.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It's processed in your browser, on your own device, and never leaves it.
