Turning the actual frames
MOV is Apple's video format: iPhones, Macs, QuickTime and Final Cut save to it. Outside Apple's apps, some Windows programs and upload forms don't take it.
Some videos only carry a note saying how to turn them, which some apps ignore. Rotating here turns the frames themselves, so every player shows it the same way.
The video is re-encoded to apply the turn, which takes a little while in the browser.
Frequently
Asked Questions
Why does my video play sideways in some apps?
It has a rotation note some apps ignore. Rotating the frames fixes it everywhere.
Does a 90° turn change the size?
Width and height swap, so landscape becomes portrait.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It's processed in your browser, on your own device, and never leaves it.
