ASS to SRT, what changes
ASS (Advanced SubStation Alpha) is a styled subtitle format with fonts, colours and positions, made with Aegisub and used a lot for anime.
SRT is the most common subtitle format: numbered lines with start and end times and plain text. YouTube, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and most players read it.
SRT has no fonts, colours or positions, so the styling is dropped and you keep the timing and text.
Frequently
Asked Questions
Is anything lost converting ASS to SRT?
The styling: SRT can't hold it. Timing and text are kept.
Does it work with other languages?
Yes. Any language and script works, including right-to-left text.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It's processed in your browser, on your own device, and never leaves it.
