How low can you go
AAC is the audio codec inside M4A and MP4 files, here as a raw .aac file. It sounds good at small sizes, but some apps only open it wrapped as M4A.
Bitrate is how much data each second of sound uses. Speech is clear at 64 kbps; music needs 96 to 128 kbps before cymbals and high notes get muddy.
