Normalize Video Audio

Make a video's sound the right loudness for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Only the audio is processed; the picture is copied as it is, so it's fast and loses no quality.

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Normalize in three steps

1.

Drop your video

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or AVI.

2.

Pick the target

-14 LUFS suits YouTube, TikTok and Reels.

3.

Normalize and download

Same video, same format, with the sound levelled.

Why videos end up too quiet

Phone and camera microphones record conservatively to avoid distortion, so talking-head videos often come out far quieter than everything else in the feed, and viewers turn them up or scroll past.

Normalizing measures your audio and raises or lowers it to the target, keeping the loudest peaks under -1.5 dB so nothing clips after the platform re-encodes it. -14 LUFS suits YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and music streaming; -16 LUFS is the usual target for podcasts and spoken word (Apple Podcasts recommends it); -23 LUFS is the EBU R128 standard for broadcast TV.

The video stream is copied untouched, so only the sound is re-encoded. That's much faster than a full conversion and the picture quality doesn't change.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Will this reduce my video quality?

No. The picture is copied without re-encoding; only the audio changes.

What loudness should a TikTok or Reel be?

Around -14 LUFS, the same as YouTube.

My video has music and voice. Will it balance them?

No. It sets the overall loudness of the mix. If the music drowns out the voice, that needs fixing in your editor.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It's processed in your browser.
