Trim Video

Drop a video, set where it should start and end, and download just that part. No timeline and no editor needed.

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Trim in three steps

1.

Drop your video

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV or AVI, up to 500 MB.

2.

Set the start and end

In seconds or minutes, like 0:12 to 0:45.

3.

Pick fast or exact, then trim

Download the shorter video.

Fast cut or exact cut

Video is stored as full pictures (keyframes) every second or two, with only the changes in between. A fast cut copies the video without re-encoding, so it has to start at a keyframe: the clip may begin a moment earlier than you asked. It takes seconds and keeps the original quality.

An exact cut re-encodes the clip so it starts on the frame you chose. It takes longer, because every frame is processed in your browser, but it's the one to use when the first frame matters, like a clip that starts on a word.

Cutting a long recording into a short for TikTok or Reels? Trim first, then resize it to vertical with the resize tools.

Caption your videos in minutes

Animated, word-synced captions in the styles top creators use. Upload a video, pick a style, fix any word, and export.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Why does my trimmed video start a little early?

Fast mode cuts at the nearest keyframe before your start time. Use the exact cut to start on the exact frame.

Does trimming lose quality?

Fast mode doesn't: the video is copied. Exact mode re-encodes, with a small quality cost.

Can I cut out the middle of a video?

This keeps one part, from a start to an end. To remove a middle section, trim the two parts separately.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It's processed in your browser, on your own device, and never leaves it.
