How speaking time is calculated
Speaking time is the number of words divided by your speaking rate. Most people talk at 130 to 160 words per minute in conversation, and 150 is the usual average for narration and presentations. At 150 wpm, 300 words take two minutes.
Your own pace depends on the kind of video. Tutorials that walk through steps are often slower, around 120 wpm. Short-form talking-head videos are usually faster, 160 to 190 wpm, because pauses get cut in the edit.
