TikTok Caption Character Counter

Paste your TikTok caption to see how many of the 4,000 characters you've used, how many hashtags and mentions it has, and what shows over the video before "more".

TikTok's caption limits

TikTok captions can be up to 4,000 characters, including hashtags, @mentions and emoji. The limit went up from 2,200 in 2022, so older guides still quote the old number.

Only about the first 80 to 100 characters show over the video before "more", and they sit right on top of the bottom of your video. Lead with the hook and keep it short.

TikTok has no fixed hashtag limit beyond the character count. A few specific hashtags tend to work better than a long list, and long captions also push text over more of the video.
